The Australian Hispanic Women’s Business Network (AHWBN) was founded by Flor Thornberry de Reyna in September 2005 with the following purposes:

• Promote its Hispanic heritage in different forms.
• Offer a voluntary service providing moral support to newly arrived Hispanic women in Australia.
• Provide opportunities for social and business networking among members and friends of the AHWBN.
• Organise a variety of activities and projects to promote its mission and objectives.
•  Identify and recognise Hispanic women making a positive impact in the Australian community through their professional, voluntary, educational or artistic work within the process of integration into the Hispanic-Australian community.

With this specific purpose in mind, the AHWBN actively worked between 2005 and 2015 with a group of liked minded Hispanic women and, in 2008 established the AHWBN yearly Award. This award identified successful Hispanic women within Australian Society.

In 2012, distinguished member of the AHWBN, Dr Beatriz Copello PhD, compiled and edited a book written by AHWBN members “The Swallows” (Las Golondrinas) via Bemac Publishing, Consultoría Literaria. This book was distributed, on a complimentary basis, to universities, libraries and community organisations, leaving a legacy of traditions and memories for future generations. 

In 2014, as part of its journey and closing a chapter of the countless activities of the AHWBN throughout this decade, Dr Susana Enríquez PhD, winner of the AHWBN Award in 2011 produced and edited the book “Migration: Identity and Memory”, which was then published in Spanish.

In December 2021 a limited bilingual edition of this book has been printed for the benefit of the community at large. To be distributed for free to non for profit organisations with a special interest in Issues related to Women, Latin/Hispanic Women, Migration and Integration.

La organización australiana sin fines de lucro, Australian Hispanic Women's Business Network (AHWBN) fue fundada por Flor Thornberry de Reyna en Septiembre de 2005 con los siguientes propósitos:

• Promover su herencia hispana en diferentes formas.
• Ofrecer un servicio voluntario que brinde apoyo moral a las mujeres hispanas recién llegadas a Australia.
• Proporcionar oportunidades para la creación de redes sociales y comerciales entre los miembros y amigos de la AHWBN.
• Organizar una variedad de actividades y proyectos para promover su misión y objetivos.
• Identificar y reconocer a las mujeres hispanas que tienen un impacto positivo en la comunidad australiana a través de su trabajo profesional, voluntario, educativo o artístico dentro del proceso de integración en la comunidad hispano-australiana.

Con este propósito específico en mente, la AHWBN trabajó activamente entre 2005 y 2015 con un grupo de mujeres hispanas de ideas afines y, en 2008, estableció el Premio anual AHWBN. Este premio identificó a mujeres hispanas exitosas dentro de la Sociedad Australiana.

En 2012, la distinguida miembro de la AHWBN, la Dra. Beatriz Copello PhD, produjo y editó un libro escrito por los miembros de la AHWBN "Las Golondrinas" (Las Golondrinas) a través de Bemac Publishing, Consultoría Literaria. Este libro se distribuyó, de forma complementaria, a universidades, bibliotecas y organizaciones comunitarias, dejando un legado de tradiciones y recuerdos para las generaciones futuras.

En 2014, como parte de su vision y cerrando un capítulo de las innumerables actividades de la AHWBN a lo largo de esta década, la Dra. Susana Enríquez PhD, ganadora del Premio AHWBN en 2011 produjo y editó el libro "Migración: Identidad y Memoria", que se publicó en español.

En Diciembre de 2021 se imprimió una edición limitada bilingüe de este libro para el beneficio de una comunidad mayor. Disponible a la venta.
